The Wines
2007 Lavender Hill Pinot Noir
The 2007 Lavender Hill Pinot Noir is produced from 100% Dijon Clone Pinot Noir vines grown in the Carneros Region of the Napa Valley. During the growing season, some clusters were thinned to ensure ripe, small berries and concentrated flavors. Harvesting is done by hand in the early morning and de-stemming takes place immediately to avoid harsh tannins. A pre-fermentation process called “cold soak” helps to stabilize grapes from the harvest shock. After fermentation, the grapes are gently pressed and the juice is aged in 100% Burgundy barrels for 9 months. This reserve blend represents our best 17 barrels of Dijon Clone wine produced from the 2007 vintage.
2006 Willow Pond Pinot Noir
Our label design depicts the scene of the small pond that supports the watering of all the vineyards on our ranch. Willow reeds grow freely around the pond and create a haven for birds traveling through the area. The vineyard is planted in twenty-one year old St. Clair clone vines and is located in the heart of the Carneros district. This luscious wine has aromas of sun-ripened raspberries, a hint of cherry cola and chocolate covered cherries. Flavors follow with undertones of dried cranberry, a touch of earthiness and savory spices. The finish is bright with round supple tannins and integrated oak highlights.
2006 Bodacious
Our 2006 Bodacious is a complex blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec from the many outstanding appellations of Napa Valley. The primary source of grapes is from our Windfall Vineyard, located in the Rutherford Appellation – a region known for its rocky loam bale soils, ideal for producing world-class Cabernets. Aromas of cherry and cocoa are followed by forward fruit flavors of cherry liqueur, cassis and bittersweet chocolate with just a hint of black tea. The mouth feel is full with balanced tannins and a long, lingering finish. Enjoy this wine now for its big, bold Bodacious flavors or continue to cellar several more years.
